The strong and conspicuous trellis geometry will in time appear considerably more blurred, perhaps at some locations almost invisible. Rampant native and introduced climbers will take care of this.
60,000 people pass through Pitt Street Mall on an average summer weekday. Its retail rental rates are amongst the highest in the world. However over the past two decades, the Mall’s public domain had deteriorated due to the intensive levels of pedestrian traffic and incessant re-development of adjacent major retail stores and arcades.
The design of the 2.5 kilometre walk runs along the foreshore of Sydney Harbour from Pyrmont Bridge Road to Rozelle Bay. The project incorporates mangrove habitat reconstruction, decks, ramps, boardwalks, a beach, canoe launching ramp and pontoons within a context rich in industrial archaeology and maritime industry remnants.
The project converted a disused 19th Century reservoir into a public garden in an inner city suburb of Sydney. The project sought to subtly foster and maintain the strange atmosphere found in the subterranean structure.
The Lemur Forest Adventure at Taronga Zoo is one of Taronga’s most intimate and memorable visitor experiences. Located at the heart of the zoo, in the former seal pools, the project brings together play, education and interpretation through a consolidated experiential journey.

In providing a new use to this former ship yard, jail and defence establishment, public access and interpretation was a high priority.
Balfour Street Park is a small scale neighbourhood park in Sydney created within the existing geometry of local streets and partial closure of Balfour Street. The pocket park forms a gateway to the new urban village of Central Park, formerly Carlton United Brewery, to become a pedestrian connection between the inner city suburbs of Chippendale and Broadway.
